Eighth Annual 5K Dash and Dine to Raise Funds for Survival Center

Dash and diners dashing

Join campus and community members for the eighth annual 5K Dash and Dine hosted by UMass Dining on Saturday, April 8 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Southwest Residential Area.

Open to the campus community and the general public, the run/walk is held to raise funds for our neighbors in need at the Amherst Survival Center.

The Survival Center provides a welcoming community where families and individuals who are struggling to make ends meet can come for food, clothing, health care and for companionship and relief from isolation. No one is turned away.

UMass Dining has raised more than $32,000 for the Survival Center over the past few years thanks to participants’ help. The goal is to raise more than $8,000 this year.

The Dash and Dine is open for runners, walkers, teams, wheelchairs and strollers. There will be a raffle and prizes the day of the race. Handicap access is available.

Admission: $5 students; $10 UMass faculty and staff; $15 general public.

Don’t forget to check out the “Fun Run” that will be happening at 10 a.m. in Southwest Residential Area for children 8 years and younger.

Register online or at any of the four dining commons/retail locations on the UMass Amherst campus. Online registration ends Thursday, April 6. Walk-ups are welcome on Saturday, April 8.
