Caltech Professor to Discuss ‘Bio-inspired Wind Energy’

John Dabiri, professor of aeronautics and bioengineering and director of the Center for Bioinspired Wind Energy at the California Institute of Technology, will present a talk on “Bio-inspired Wind Energy: From Fish Schools and Seagrass to Better Wind Farms” on Friday, Nov. 22 at 12:30 p.m. in the Cape Cod Lounge in the Student Union.

The talk is part of the Offshore Wind IGERT seminar series and will describe recent efforts using bio-inspired arrays of counter-rotating vertical-axis wind turbines to reduce the cost, size and environmental impacts of wind farms.
