Professor Edward Calabrese, environmental health sciences, testified Oct. 3 before the U.S. Senate’s Environment and Public Works Subcommittee on Superfund, Waste Management and Regulatory Oversight in Washington, D.C.

Calabrese discussed his views of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Risk Assessment Transparency Proposal and called upon the agency to commit to providing detailed explanations and public access to data it considered and decided not to use for regulation.

He also endorsed the EPA’s proposal to drop the linear non-threshold model as the default model for risk assessment.
