Ahern Keynotes Meeting of European Landscape Architecture Schools

Jack Ahern, vice provost for International Programs and professor of landscape architecture, gave a keynote talk on “Novel Urban Ecosystems for Urban Resilience” on Sept. 23 at the annual meeting of the European Council of Landscape Architecture Schools (ECLAS) at the University of Porto, Portugal.

Alumna Teresa Andresen, who earned her master’s in landscape architecture in 1983, is the head of the landscape architecture program at the University of Porto, and was the local chair for the ECLAS conference. 

UMass Amherst has an active cooperation agreement with University of Porto for faculty and visiting scholars in landscape architecture, according to Ahern.
