100 ‘Military Appreciation’ Football Jerseys Offered in Benefit Auction


AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts Athletics and the football program will auction 100 of the team's Military Appreciation-themed jerseys to be worn during the Fenway Gridiron Series game against Maine on Sat., Nov. 11 at 4 p.m.

Proceeds from the auction will be split between on-campus military and veteran groups, including the UMass Student Veteran Association and the UMass Army ROTC and Air Force ROTC, and will also benefit the Gridiron Club.

The auction opened at 11:59 p.m. on Wed., Nov. 8 with a $200 initial bid price and a $25 bid increment. Jerseys are listed for auction by number, and bids will be specific to the exact item. The auction will remain open for bidding until 11:59 p.m. on Fri., Nov. 17.

Those wishing to participate must register an auction account through UMassAthletics.com.

Once the auction closes, the highest bidder on each of the 100 jerseys will be notified of their winning bid. Payment can be made online and jerseys will either be shipped to the winning bidders ($15 flat-rate) or available locally for pickup.
