Robinson, vice chancellor for student affairs at the University of Massachusetts since 1992, has announced he will resign his position to assume the post of vice president for student services at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind. Robinson will leave his post at UMass in mid-August.

AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts student Tsidii (pronounced "C-D") Le Loka, has received an Outer Critics Circle Award for "Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical." Le Loka is currently appearing as Rafiki in the Broadway production of "The Lion King."
AMHERST, Mass. - Wenshu Yu, of Andover, a junior at the University of Massachusetts, has won a prestigious Goldwater Scholarship. She was one of just 316 students in the United States to win the award for the 1998-99 academic year.
AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts Ph.D. student Lyn Gualtieri, of Boxford, has received a Fulbright Fellowship to study glacial rocks in Iceland. Gualtieri earned her bachelor’s degree at UMass, and a master’s degree at the University of Alberta, Canada.
AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts is organizing a state-wide research conference for undergraduates to take place Fri. May 1 between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Federal Reserve Bank in Boston. It is believed to be the first such state-wide undergraduate research conference in the United States.
AMHERST, Mass. - More than 30 senior electrical engineering students at the University of Massachusetts will exhibit their research projects at Senior Design Day on Thurs. April 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Gunness Student Center in Marcus Hall at UMass.
