UMass Muscle Physiology Lab Seeks Volunteers for Study
The UMass Muscle Physiology Lab is seeking volunteers to participate in a study that examines the cause of muscle fatigue in older adults and determines its impact on mobility.
You may qualify if you are a reasonably healthy, non-smoker between the ages of 30-40 or 70-80 years who does not exercise heavily.
Volunteers will be asked to come to the laboratory for three or four study visits, depending on whether you agree to an optional fourth visit. Participants will perform mobility and strength assessments, walk on a treadmill and have an MRI of their thigh muscles conducted while performing muscle contractions.
Participants will receive information about their muscle composition and strength, and will be compensated up to $220.
