Sustainability Event Will Recognize Undergraduate Research Award-winners

Recipients of the UMass Libraries undergraduate sustainability research award will be announced at a special sustainability event, “Design for Change: An Exploration of Social, Built and Natural Systems,” from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 4 at the Science and Engineering Library at the Lederle Graduate Research Center Lowrise.
The event’s keynote speaker, educator and culture-shift consultant Abrah Dresdale, will discuss the transformative social aspects of permaculture design principles. On faculty in the university’s sustainable food and farming program, Dresdale is the author of “Regenerative Design for Change Makers: A Social Permaculture Guidebook.” Permacultureis a set of increasingly popular design principles for creating landscapes that thoughtfully mimic natural ecosystems.
