Participants Needed for Research Studies on Hearing
Researchers in the UMass department of communication disorders are looking for individuals 18 to 25 years of age or 45 to 59 years of age to participate in National Institutes of Health-funded studies of hearing changes with age.
The purpose of these studies is to identify how early age-related changes in hearing influence the problems that people experience understanding speech.
Participation will require one visit of approximately two hours in length. During this visit participants will complete tests of hearing and speech comprehension while sitting, standing and/or walking.
Participants must be healthy, native-English speakers who have no motor or neurological disorders that affect balance or walking. Participants will be paid $10/hour. If interested, send an email message to hearingbrain@umass.edu
