Participants Needed for a Hearing Research Study
Adults 40 years and older are needed for a hearing study of how aging affects speech understanding in noisy backgrounds.
Researchers at UMass Amherst are looking for participants who do not have any concerns regarding their memory and cognition as well as individuals who have a medical diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or dementia.
The study will take place in participants’ own residences. Participants will use an iPad device and headphones to test their hearing and complete listening and memory tests. The equipment will be delivered to volunteers and they will have a phone or videoconference appointment with someone from the research team. The study will take approximately two hours to complete the study.
Participants will be paid $20 for participating. Please researchers at 413-545-0565 or healthy-hearing@umass.edu for more information about the study and to learn more about eligibility.
