Obituary: Stacia Mary Jablonski, Retired Head of Residence, Food Service Worker

Stacia Mary Jablonski, 90, of Sunderland, a retired head of residence and clerical worker in food services, died May 11.

Born Sept. 10, 1927, in Brattleboro, Vermont, she attended schools in Brattleboro and later worked in the mills there, then as a bank teller in South Deerfield, and she was an office worker at Chickadee Potato Chips in Whately.

From 1972-79, she served UMass Amherst as head of residence and senior head of residence in the Northeast Residential Area. She then became a principal clerk in food services until her retirement in1989.

She was the widow of Henry Majewski, who died in 1968, and Alex Jablonski, who died in 2006.

She is survived by her only child, Daniel Majewski, and his wife Cindy (Fleming) Majewski.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you pay it forward with an act of kindness in her memory.

Her funeral will be Wednesday, May 16, at Wrisley Funeral Home in South Deerfield. Calling hours will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. and service at 10:30 a.m., with burial in Holy Name of Jesus Cemetery. A reception will follow.
