Obituary: Douglas Warka, Retired Senior Maintenance Manager

Douglas C. Warka, 74, of Monson, a retired senior maintenance manager in Auxiliary Enterprises, died Jan. 11.

Born in Palmer, Feb. 19, 1944, he attended Monson High School and completed his graduating year at Monson Academy. He served in the Army from 1965-68 and was honorably discharged.

He joined UMass Amherst as a professional technician in 1983 and retired from Auxiliary Enterprises in 2011.

He leaves his brothers, Pete Warka and wife Teresa of Monson and Robert Warka of Oroville, California; sisters, Sandy Jurczyk of Monson, Linda Conklin of Northampton, and Nancy Acker of Dandrige, Tennessee.

Military honors and burial will take place at Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, the date and time to be announced.
