Enrollment is now open for the spring 2020 Leadership Academy programs: “Foundations of Supervision” and “Essentials of Management.” These two multi-modal programs expand the effectiveness of supervisors and managers to strengthen their capacity to build a community of choice by aligning the university’s values and mission with a successful practice of managing people, building relationships and driving results.

In addition to interactive classroom and online learning, program participants become part of a valuable learning community that emphasizes learning from one another, problem-solving together and building a network of support and resources. Each program cohort consists of peers from across the university who can apply the Leadership Academy’s development framework to their specific position and work context.

The Leadership Academy is open to UMass Amherst employees in supervisor roles. Separate trainings are provided for supervisors of student workers; visit the Workplace Learning and Development workshops website to learn more.

Learn more about each program’s format, eligibility requirements and application process at the Workplace Learning and Development Leadership Academy website.  Contact Workplace Learning and Development at 545-1787 with questions.
