Trained ambassadors will lead the workshops as participants learn to successfully navigate difficult or sensitive conversations; improve listening skills; disengage from conversations that are unproductive; engage in conversations with people who have different perspectives, and increase empathy toward those with different experiences.
The conversations are organized by the Office of Equity and Inclusion as part of the Dignity and Respect in Action campus initiative as a way to actively create a campus environment that rejects hate and embraces respect, dignity and inclusion. Additional resources will be available online for the entire UMass Amherst community.
