Anthropology Celebrates 50th Anniversary with Conference

The department of anthropology invites the campus community to participate in its 50th anniversary conference, “Engaging Anthropology,” Oct. 3-6.

Through papers, presentations, workshops, posters and other activities, the conference seeks to engage the discipline of anthropology through critical dialogue.

A number of events including tours, dinners and socials, community engaged workshops and professional development sessions for students will take place.

Some of the planned talks and panels include:

Amanda Walker Johnson, associate professor of anthropology, University of Massachusetts Amherst
Dana-Ain Davis, professor of anthropology and director of the Center for the Study of Women and Society, Graduate Center, CUNY
Riché J. Daniel Barnes, dean of Pierson College and affiliate professor of anthropology at Yale University
