Dr. Moses Tefe

Dr. Moses Tefe, Ph.D., P.E., is professor and chair of the Department of Civil Engineering and Construction Management at Norwich University, as well as chair of the Dodge Committee for the David Crawford School of Engineering. His research focuses on smart city mobility and equity, active transportation systems and traffic safety, and sustainable transportation planning in developing countries. Dr. Tefe’s professional and scholarly work has been published nationally and internationally, including recent contributions on infrastructure equity and social justice in engineering education.

Dr. Tefe earned his bachelor’s degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana, followed by a decade in engineering consultancy. He completed his master’s degree at UNESCO-IHE in Delft, the Netherlands, and earned his Ph.D. in civil/transportation engineering from the University of Alabama in August 2012. He joined the faculty of the David Crawford School of Engineering at Norwich as an assistant professor in July 2012, became department chair in July 2022, and was promoted to full professor in spring 2025.

Dr. Tefe is recognized for his leadership in civil engineering education and his commitment to advancing sustainable and equitable transportation systems.
