Mars, MOXIE and the Future of Human Space Flight Public Lecture

Professor Jeffery A. Hoffman (MIT), a former NASA Astronaut, will give public lecture on Wednesday, October 11th, 2023, beginning at 8 pm in the Integrated Sciences Building Auditorium 0135. All in the community are welcome. Doors will open at 7:15 pm.
Dr. Hoffman, who is Deputy Principal Investigator for the MOXIE oxygen-producing experiment on Mars, will describe the reasons for producing oxygen locally, how MOXIE (Mars Oxygen ISRU Experiment) works, what is has accomplished after 2 ½ years of operation inside NASA’s Perseverance rover on Mars, and give an update on some of the other accomplishments of the Perseverance mission.
