The Viola D'Amore: Enchanted, Hidden History
Concert/Lecture by guest artist Matthew Dane

This presentation explores the history and music of the viola d'amore, a 14-stringed instrument invented in the Baroque Era, in a lecture/performance format.

Well-known to both Bach and Vivaldi, the uniquely sweet and resonant tone of the instrument is also well-suited to express the diverse music of our time.

Free and open to the public.

About Matthew Dane:

Violist Matthew Dane enjoys a career of both teaching and playing.  Living in Boulder, Colorado, his is Principal Violist of both the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra and Opera Colorado as well as a member of the Boulder Piano Quartet.
