Orff Schulwerk Festival at UMass Amherst

Clinicians: Gretchen Wahlberg and Sandy Lantz

Day 1: Wednesday, April 11, 9am-3pm
For: Elementary music teachers (attending solo or with their 5th grade students) as well as current music student teachers
What: Singing, moving, playing instruments, composition, & improvisation in the Orff Schulwerk approach

Day 2: Thursday, April 12, 9am-3pm
For: Collegiate music education majors and in-service music teachers who would like to explore new teaching and learning experiences.
What: Series of interactive workshops; each focusing on a different element of the Orff Schulwerk approach

Guest clinicians: Gretchen Wahlberg & Sandy Lantz
National board certified teachers who have taught elementary music in Florida for over 38 years.  They have taught many Orff Schulwerk teacher education courses and workshops nationally, and have co-written the books Drum It Up, Creative Bits with Children's Lit, and Strum It Up.

Registration fees:
Day 1: $10 per teacher/$10 per student teacher/$5 per 5th grade student *
Day 2: $10 per attendee *
* In-service teachers who have supervised (or are currently supervising) a UMass Amherst music student teacher may attend solo or with your 5th grade students free of charge.
Current UMass Amherst music education majors (including student teachers) may also attend free of charge.
