Guest Lecture by Dylan Savage, DM: Expanding the Purpose of Music
Using Music Performance as a Teaching Tool

What opportunities await the upcoming generations of musicians in a world over-saturated with high quality players? Dr. Savage will demonstrate how to use live music performance to teach advanced universal skill use and process to people in non-music disciplines. Could this new approach become a new path for musicians?

Dylan Savage is a recording artist for Capstone Records, a Bösendorfer Concert Artist, and a first-place winner of the Rome Festival Orchestra Competition. He has written extensively about interdisciplinary connections between music and non-music fields in Clavier, Clavier Companion, American Music Teacher, and Pianoforte magazines and in his co-authored book, A Symposium for Pianists and Teachers.
