Chamber ensembles are open to all UMass Amherst students, who are placed based on studio teacher evaluations.
All chamber ensembles appear in concert on campus several times a year. Chamber ensembles also perform off-campus at area special events and school outreach concerts.

SMALL CHAMBER MUSIC ENSEMBLES
The Department has a robust chamber music program encompassing a wide variety of ensembles, from sonata teams, vocal/piano duos, and string, piano/string, and mixed chamber ensembles of every combination. The Department also hosts two graduate string quartets which form the backbone of the string chamber music area. The Department endeavors to provide performance opportunities as part of this program.
CHAMBER JAZZ ENSEMBLES
Jazz Faculty and Jazz Graduate students, directors/coaches
Multiple ensembles perform standard and student-written materials in concert and weekly recital settings.
