Drummer, composer, educator royal hartigan '81 gives a concert & talk with his Akoma Ensemble about the teaching and influence of Max Roach.

Avery Sharpe and royal hartigan, who were students of Max Roach in the 70s and early 80s, will speak about how Prof. Roach influenced their lives and the musical legacy he left them and countless other students.
The ensemble will play pieces relating to their work with Roach.
The event is hosted by Jeffrey Holmes and Jonathan Hulting-Cohen.
