Jazz Ensemble I presents "Happy Holidays: Jazz and Beyond!"

UMass Amherst's top level big band.

With guests Ben Barnett, trombone (faculty) and Dawning Holmes, vocals

Featuring jazz-inflected holiday tunes including Winter Wonderland, This Christmas, alum Rick Hirsch's arrangement of Chanukah Joy, Some Children See Him, & Frosty the Snowman with the newly-formed Jazz Trombone Choir.

Also including Bill Holman's Carl (written for trombonist Carl Fontana), John Abercrombie's Jazz Folk, Jose Feliciano's Affirmation and Never Make You Move Too Soon by Stix Hooper and Will Jennings.

Pre-concert music features Henry Bolduc, piano; Noah Holmes, bass and Shreyas Jatling, drums playing festive Vince Guaraldi Trio tunes.
