Guest Artist: Perc/Piano/Accordion Trio - Ignacio Corrales, Fernanda Gonzalez & Remi Briffault

Ignacio Corrales, percussion; Fernanda González, piano & Remi Briffault, accordion
Luz y Fuerza #2 is the second concert of a series led by Argentinian pianist Fernanda González and French accordionist Rémi Briffault, along with Argentinian percussionist Ignacio Corrales.
This exhilarating combo performs music by some of the most renowned Argentine composers of our time, such as Martín Matalón, Alex Nante, Luis Naón, Fernando Fiszbein, Julia Sanjurjo, and Beltrán Gonzalez.
Joining forces with the existing piano-accordion duo, the percussion introduces a breadth of sounds and timbres into the mix. This maverick trio aims to promote and spread the work of composers of our time through commissions, high-caliber recordings and captivating performances. This unique combo of instrumentation presents a new genre and chapter in chamber music.
This program denotes four premieres specifically written for this project, along with “Cinco Encuentros” (2024) for piano and accordion by Alex Nante and “Urbana” (1998) for accordion, percussion, and live electronics by Luis Naon.
Luz y Fuerza #2 pays homage to the Argentine identity, which is influenced by the constant immigration pattern up to this day. Our mission is to unify the voices of top-notch composers and young promising talents, to strengthen the presence of this niche into the New York City scene.
