UMass Chamber Choir and University Chorale: "War and Peace"

Lindsay Pope and Stephen A. Paparo, conductors

The top groups from the UMass choral program perform moving works about war and peace.

Includes music by Arvo Pärt (who recently celebrated his 90th birthday), Maurice Ravel, Veljo Tormis' "Curse Upon Iron," Clément Janequin's "La Guerre," J. Reese Norris' "The Warrior," Arianne Abela's "Rise," Jonathan Woody's "I Conquer the World with Words" and many others.

The combined choirs sing Johnny Clegg's "Asimbonanga", Laura Jēkabsone's "Father Thunder" and the spiritual "We Shall Walk Through the Valley."

Tickets: $17 general; $7 seniors/students; Free for UMass students with ID
