ConSurf is a free website that identifies regions
on the surface of a protein
that are highly conserved or highly variable in evolution.
-
ConSurf requires a 3D protein structure (PDB atomic coordinate file). The rest is
completely automatic.
-
Example (from the Gallery of
ConSurf):
MHC I.
(
ConSurf 3)
- ConSurf has many
advantages.
ConSurf was developed at Tel Aviv University in Israel by
Fabian Glaser,
Tal Pupko, Inbal Paz, Eric Martz, Yossi Rosenberg, and Nir Ben-Tal.
