The UMass X-Pol mobile Doppler radar is an X-band (3 cm wavelength) radar that operates from a customized truck platform.  Developed in 2002, it has been used in severe storm research on the US Great Plains and in the Southeastern US.   MIRSL has collaborated with the University of Oklahoma's School of Meteorology (OU SoM) as well as Purdue University's College of Earth Atmosphere and Planetary Sciences (EAPS).
