Our Microbiology program provides training across the breadth of microbiology. As scientists, we are expanding the discipline of microbiology by using diverse molecular, genetic, physiological, ecological, evolutionary, and applied translational approaches. As educators we are training students to confidently engage these diverse approaches in achieving their professional goals. In the Microbiology major, we are committed to training scientists who value societal contribution and collegiality and who work wisely, creatively, and effectively for the betterment of humankind.

Student Success
Our Microbiology major has one the highest rates of medical school acceptance on campus. Many graduates continue onto graduate school, including our highly ranked Master's Programs, PhD program, and Applied Molecular Biotechnology M.S. program. Other students successfully matriculate into dental, veterinary, or allied health programs.
