Ph.D.

Ecology & Evolutionary Biology, University of Colorado, 2005

My research interests combines ecosystem ecology with molecular microbial ecology.  My amazement of the extent to which microorganisms influence our world fuels my teaching and mentoring, and I am honored to be a part of my students lives as an advisor, mentor, and teacher.  I appreciate the growth and self discovery in which college students are involved at place where curiosity and critical thinking underlies most of what we do.  I teach our introductory course for majors (Foundations in Microbiology), our seminar for Microbiology freshmen (Cultivating the Microbiologist in You), and other courses as needed.
