A graph is a mathematical object consisting of vertices (or nodes) and edges connecting the vertices. Although relatively simple objects, there is so much mathematics behind graphs that there is a field of study called graph theory. In this talk, we will define a graph by introducing the Konisberg Bridge Problem, a problem about literal bridges considered the first problem in graph theory. We will then explore real life applications of graphs, including an interesting theorem about how many friends one has (known as the Friendship Theorem).
