Speaker: Ben Heidenreich (UMass Physics)

I discuss the main ingredients of a quantum field theory in modern language, with a particular emphasis on (generalized) symmetries. In this second part, I will complete the picture of local and extended canonical operators in the compact free boson and their relation to charges and symmetries. I will then discuss time evolution in relativistic quantum field theories,  Euclidean field theory, and defect operators.
