Black hole stability is a central topic in mathematical relativity that has seen numerous advancements in recent years with black holes in both positive and vanishing cosmological constant shown to be stable. Since Einstein's equations embed a certain hyperbolic structure, understanding the behavior of wave equations on black hole backgrounds has been a key point in proving black hole stability. In this talk, I will give a brief introduction to waves on black hole backgrounds, and in particular, behavior that is uniform in the vanishing cosmological constant limit. This is joint work with Jeremie Szeftel and Arthur Touati.
