Lindiwe Sibeko, PhD

Dr. Lindiwe Sibeko is a Professor of Nutrition in the Department of Nutrition, School of Public Health and Health Sciences. Her maternal and child health research is focused on improving survival and wellbeing of Black mother-infant dyads by tackling breastfeeding inequities in local communities. She uses participatory methodologies to test culturally specific interventions supportive of Black breastfeeding; a health behavior that can mitigate early mother/infant risk factors, and improve health outcomes of Black infants, mothers and young children.
