The Institute of Diversity Sciences (IDS) brings together faculty and students from UMass Amherst and the five colleges to encourage new equity-inspired multidisciplinary research collaborations among faculty and students from different disciplines that can be later leveraged to seek larger external research grants. They offer teams opportunities for mentored STEM research experience that advances equity in ways that cut across traditional disciplinary boundaries, and through a partnership with the Elaine Marieb Center for Nursing and Engineering innovation, the IDS is offering an opportunity for a joint-funded grant with a budget up to $25,000. The Center supports multidisciplinary research the brings together nurses and engineers for innovative solutions to healthcare challenges, and for the joint IDS-EMCNEI funded proposals, the PI team must include faculty from nursing and engineering departments. Please feel free to reach out to Center Co-Directors Karen Giuliano, PhD RN or Frank Sup, PhD for further information; also please feel free to follow the link below to the IDS application page.
