UMass Amherst MFA student Procheta Mukherjee Olson ’17G (left) with Selena Shabot ’20G at an open house in the Studio Arts Building. “When I’m in my studio, it’s very easy for me to leave the world and get caught up in the world of painting,” Olson says. “I don’t feel creative in a blank room.” She typically paints into the early morning hours, surrounded by family photos and inspirational objects.
