Javier Reyes, who takes on the role of chancellor of UMass Amherst this summer, comes to campus with a strong track record of leadership in higher education. Governor Maura Healey has called him “an innovative and dynamic leader who will harness the full potential of UMass Amherst,” and said, “I’m confident that he will inspire students and faculty alike to continue growing the school’s excellence in education and research.” Here are some quick facts to help you get to know the incoming chancellor.
