The LSAMP program provides funding to help support undergraduate research in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) laboratories. The LSAMP program is for underrepresented students who self-identify as African-Americans, Alaska Natives, American Indians, Hispanic Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Native Pacific Islanders. Research projects are directed and sponsored by STEM research faculty, and participants will work under their mentorship. There are a series of programs and activities for LSAMP participants that include seminars on undergraduate research, invited speakers, and opportunities for students to present their work.
