Amherst, MA, Nov. 13, 2019 — The UMass Amherst Labor Center is pleased to announce the release of Crisis! When Political Parties Lose the Consent to Rule [2], by Center Director, Cedric de Leon [3].
The Center will host a book launch event at Amherst Books (8 Main Street, Amherst, MA) on Monday, Nov. 18, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Written for the general public, the book compares political crises from the U.S. Civil War to the Great Depression and the election of Donald Trump.
U.S. Congressman and Chairman of the House Rules Committee writes, “Cedric de Leon offers a compelling narrative that sheds light on our present political moment and serves as a resource to anyone wishing to understand and end the crisis of confidence that has gripped American politics.”
Pat Greenfield, former Labor Center director and community activist, will interview Professor de Leon at the event and then open the conversation to the audience.
