The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures strongly condemns the increasing anti-Asian violence, harassment, and rhetoric across the country. We stand with our Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander students, faculty, and community members. As Chancellor Subbaswamy affirms in his statement of March 17, 2021, "the rising tide of racism and the violence that has followed is an undeniable reality that we as a society must confront and defeat."
