Simon Wang

Bartlett Hall, Room 389

Simon holds a B.A. in English Language and Literation and two M.A.s in English Education and TESOL respectively. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Cognition, Instruction, and Learning Technology program at the University of Connecticut. He served adjunct positions at a number of higher-ed institutions in the US and aboard. He taught courses to help international students and scholars better acclimate to the academic environment at UConn’s American Language Institute. He’s also taught intensive English and translation/interpretation courses at the World Language Department at Eastern Michigan University, and School of English Studies at Tianjin Foreign Studies University.

His teaching philosophy is heavily influenced by the underlying principles of constructivism - students are capable and will grow through their experiences and interaction with others. This allowed him to be involved in a few federally granted research projects to study the impact of problem-based learning curriculum on students.
