What is the Special Commuting Offer?
The Special Commuting Offer is an option for students who would like to commute from home for fall 2022. This offer is available to current students with a fall 2022 assignment. Students who want to accept this offer can complete this form.
What is the Benefit of Accepting This Offer?
Students who accept this offer will save money by living at home during the fall semester! For fall 2021-Spring 2022, a standard shared room was $3,805.50 per semester and rates are expected to increase by 3-5% for the upcoming academic year. Students who accept the commuter offer for fall 2022, select a spring 2023 assignment and remain on campus for at least the first 5 weeks of the semester will receive a $900 rebate on their spring 2023 Base Room Fee. Students will also receive priority consideration for available shared spaces when they return to campus in Spring 2023.
How will I Connect With Other Students if I am Commuting?
UMass Amherst is bigger than just the Residential Communities. We encourage you to learn more about the Off Campus Student Life office. Off Campus Student Life is a great place to hang out in between classes or to use a computer to work on a project. They also have regular events and activities to help students connect with other students who are living off campus or commuting from home!
