As part of the cluster with Emerson Hall, James Hall is a part of the Residential First-Year Experience (RFYE). RFYE halls are designed as living-learning communities where first-year students can engage with their peers around common interests and pursuits. First-year halls offer intentional staffing and support to assist students in their transition to the University.

Residential First-Year Experience (RFYE)
RFYE halls are designed as living-learning communities where first-year students can engage with their peers around common interests and pursuits. First-year halls offer intentional staffing and support to assist students in their transition to the University. For information about Residential Academic Programs available in James, visit the RAP website.
Break Housing
James is a First-Year Break Housing Option. As a Break Housing Hall, students who specifically request Break Housing accommodations will automatically be charged the Break Housing Rate. Students who did not specifically request Break Housing will be expected to vacate during Thanksgiving, Wintersession, and Spring Break periods. James residents who wish to remain over break periods can contact Residential Life Student Services to make a request. Students who are approved will be billed the additional $300 per semester break housing fee.
