Parking Your Car
Family Housing residents are able to park their vehicles for a fee in the parking lots located in North Village. Parking Services issues yearlong (September 1 – August 31) parking permits to residents who have registered a vehicle. Please visit http://parking.umass.edu/index.php/permits/permitfees, for current Family Housing parking permit fees.
To register your vehicle, bring your current car registration to the Family Housing Office, C-01. Your vehicle registration must be in your name or in the name of your immediate family member. Each apartment may register one vehicle. If two adults are on the Lease, a second vehicle may be registered if space permits. All vehicles without proper parking decals or guest passes are subject to ticketing and towing. If you live in an apartment equipped for the mobility impaired and have a medical accommodation, you can get a parking decal from Parking Services entitling you to a handicapped parking space.
Family Housing residents are responsible for their guests and their cards. A restricted number of Family Housing free one-day temporary parking permits for guests are available at your Resident Manager’s apartment or from the Family Housing Office, C-01. These one-day passes require registration plate information and are valid for a stated, limited time period only. Guests must display the decal or temporary permit on their dashboards to avoid being ticketed or towed.
Bus routes operated by UMass Transit are fare-free for Five College students, faculty and staff. Non University students, faculty and staff will need to pay for the service. Bus drivers do not collect fares. Passengers are expected to have either a Five College student, faculty or staff ID card or a fare ticket/pass for each ride. For bus routes and more information, please visit http://www.umass.edu/transit. North Village residents are able to board the bus at the North Village entrance on North Pleasant Street.
