  • The Postal Service is responsible for providing every customer a compartment lock and three (3) keys to their postal-owned Cluster Box Unit (CBU). Residents should take the authorization form provided by Residential Life to the Amherst Post Office at 145 University Drive to receive keys to their cluster box.
  • No key deposits are required and customers may duplicate their keys at no expense to the Postal Service.
  • The Postal Service keeps no duplicate keys and if the customer loses all the keys, the Postal Service will have to install a new lock and issue a new set of keys at the customer's expense.
    • Customers should return all compartment keys to the Amherst Post Office at 145 University Drive when they move from their residence. When a customer moves, the Post Office will change the lock before reissuing the compartment. The new customer is not charged for the first lock and keys even though the Postal Service replaced it.
  • Residents of University Village should direct all mail concerns to the Amherst Post Office. They can do so by calling (413) 549-0523. Alternatively, they can use our consumer affairs system by accessing and opening a ticket, or by calling 1-800-ASK-USPS.

Delivery Vendors
All other delivery vendors will deliver packages directly to apartment doors. If a resident has a question or concern regarding a delivery, they should contact the specific delivery vendor directly.
