Residence Halls will close at 10:00am on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018. Students who fail to vacate by this time will be subject to a $150 Unauthorized Occupancy Fee. Halls will reopen at 10:00am on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018.
Reminder: Non-Break Residential Service Desks will close at 11:00pm on Friday, November 16th and will reopen Sunday, November 25th at 10:00am.
Thanksgiving Break Vacate Checklist
Close and secure windows in your room and turn off lights.
Turn off and unplug all electronics except for refrigerator units.
Take out any recyclables or trash.
Residential Life Facilities Operations staff and Environmental Health and Safety will conduct ongoing inspections of rooms during Thanksgiving Break. Inspections consist of visual surveys of rooms. Illegal items and other policy violations in plain view will be documented and referred to the appropriate authorities.
Card Access will expire at 10:00am on Nov. 17, 2018. If you have been issued a Temporary Card, please return it to your Residential Service Desk to avoid a $40 card replacement charge.
Take all essential and valuable items with you when you vacate for Thanksgiving Break. Residents are not allowed access to the Residence Halls during Thanksgiving Break. The University does not guarantee the security of property left in the residence halls and does not carry insurance that compensates residents for losses due to fire, theft, water damage, etc.
North, Lincoln, Brett, Cashin, Johnson, Prince Residence Halls will remain open over Thanksgiving Break. Approved residents in Gorman are also able to remain over Thanksgiving Break. Gorman residents who wish to stay on campus must contact Residential Life Student Services for approval before November 17, 2018.

Lockout Assist Service in Brett, Gorman, Prince, Cashin and Johnson
Students who lock themselves out of their room during Residential Service Desk Hours can contact the Residential Service Desk to request a Lockout Assist. Students who lock themselves out of their room outside of Residential Service Desk Hours should contact the RA On-Duty. The number is available in your residence hall. Requesting a Lockout Assist requires staff to come directly to your room to unlock your door and verify that you have your room key. Please note that there is a $35 Lockout Assist Fee which will be applied to the student’s Bursar bill.

Requesting a Lockout Assist requires staff to come directly to your room to unlock your door and verify that you have your room key. Please note that there is a $35 Lockout Assist Fee which will be applied to the student’s Bursar bill.
Campus Dining Options Over Thanksgiving Break
All Dining Commons will close at 1:00pm on November 17th. Students will be able to use Dining Commons swipes and Dining Dollars at the Blue Wall over Thanksgiving Break. DC hours will resume on Sunday November 25th. Blue Wall Hours are listed below:
DC hours will be available when they are finalized.
Standard mail and package delivery will operate normally only in Break Housing Halls over Thanksgiving Break. All other package and letter mail will be held until residence halls reopen on November 25th.
Temporary Break Housing
Students currently living in a non-break housing residence hall who need housing over the break period are strongly encouraged to contact our office to discuss options. Temporary accommodations are limited and offered on a first come, first served basis. Students can also discuss a permanent reassignment to an available space in a break housing hall.
