Every student that selects a housing assignment and later cancels is subject to the cancellation fee schedule. If a student cancels after the start of the semester they are also subject to the housing fee refund schedule.
Your residence hall assignment and occupancy license is for the full academic year. Students should only select an assignment if they are certain they will live on campus. Students who select an assignment and later cancel that assignment will be subject to a minimum $300 Cancellation Fee. The Fall 2023 cancellation fee schedule is available below.
Cancelling your Assignment during the Semester
Students who wish to cancel their housing assignment after halls open must remove their belongings from the space before requesting a cancellation. Once students have properly checked out, by removing their belongings and returning their key to their Residential Service Desk, they can send an email to email@example.com to request a cancellation. Students who cancel their assignment during the semester will receive a credit based on the housing fee refund schedule below, if eligible.

Please note: Students who cancel after September 9 will receive a credit based on the Housing Fee Refund Schedule.
Students who cancel their housing assignment or withdraw from the university during the first five weeks of the semester are eligible for a housing fee refund. The refund is issued based on the date the student checks out of the residence hall room. Students who cancel or withdraw during the first five weeks are also subject to the cancellation fee schedule, which is also prorated to the corresponding week the cancellation is made. In order for the refund to be issued, the student must complete a full check out by removing all belongings from the space, turning in the key to the Residential Service Desk, and calling Residential Life Assignments to request a cancellation.
