Lincoln Apartments Closure, May 31, 2020

The University and Residential Life would like to share the news about upcoming plans to bring new housing to students at UMass Amherst.  We have concluded, after an in-depth study, that it is too costly to renovate some of the university’s aging housing units, including Lincoln Apartments.  As a result, Lincoln Apartments will close next spring at the end of the academic year on May 31, 2020.  The buildings will be taken down so the university can proceed with plans to build new graduate and family housing.  During this time of transition, we will not be accepting new residents and encourage those seeking off campus housing to visit the Off Campus Housing Service found here.

Cancelling Your Graduate Assignment
Students interested in cancelling their Lincoln assignment must call (413) 545-2100, email living@umass.edu using your campus email address or visit Residential Life Student Services at 235 Whitmore to request a cancellation of their assignment. Only the student may cancel their assignment and the request must be made directly with the Student Services Office.

Lincoln Apartment Parking
Students living in the Lincoln apartments are eligible to purchase a parking permit from Parking Services. Spaces are limited and permits will be sold on a first come, first served basis. Student Services must notify Parking Services that you are eligible for a parking permit before you may purchase a permit, therefore you may not request a permit until after you have selected a space on campus.

One week after you have secured a housing assignment, you may contact Parking Services to inquire about available lot spaces.
