Undergraduate Program Resources
The linguistics department offers several options for majoring and minoring in linguistics. To declare a major or minor, see the Majors and Requirements page. For general questions about the undergraduate program, e-mail the Undergraduate Program Director at this e-mail address. Email our Minors Advisor for questions about the minor.
UMass Amherst university and College of Humanities and Fine Arts scholarships
UMass students can set up an account at AcademicWorks and then get a list of scholarship and funding opportunities they may be eligible for. There are fall, spring, and summer award cycles. Deadlines may vary from year to year (check AcademicWorks!), but as an example, for the 2024-2025 academic year:
- Fall awards cycle: closes November 15, 2024 so reviews can take place and scholarship awards made in time to apply to spring semester bills.
- Spring awards cycle: closes March 3, 2025. Scholarships will apply to fall bills, unless the department chooses to apply to the spring.
- Summer awards cycle: closes April 15, 2025 and includes special awards, internships, undergraduate research, and Oxford Summer Seminar.
