Joyia is a Master of Regional Planning Candidate through the 4+1 program. As an undergrad, she double majored in Landscape Architecture and Urban Geography and minored in Afro-American studies at UMass-Amherst. Joyia’s concentration is in community development and cultural preservation. She aspires to be a city planner that will focus on uplifting underprivileged communities, increasing resilient green spaces in urban areas, eliminating food deserts, and promoting health and wellness.
