Janko Tomasic Master of Regional Planning Candidate

Janko is a Master of Regional Planning candidate, as well as a University of Massachusetts alum. At UMass, he majored in Geography with a concentration in Urban Geography, and also received a minor in Political Science. His general interest includes economic development, industrial heritage, and historical preservation. His research is in the intersection of economic development and historical preservation, specifically looking at the impact of mill revitalization and the preservation of industrial heritage on local economies.
Janko currently interns for the Town of Athol as an assistant to the Town Planner working on various projects including a brownfield redevelopment grant, housing production plan, and historical preservation efforts. In his free time, Janko enjoys playing music, learning history, studying foreign languages, and traveling.
